The human endeavor is constantly improving itself to attain a higher understanding of self and purpose in life.  Technology is proving to be ever indispensable within the stage of human development that we are presently experiencing.  We live in a technologically enriched and interdependent global society with unprecedented means of sharing information and unparalleled utilization of technology to improve the quality of life for all people.  As such, the Hammonton School District recognizes its duty to prepare students for this technologically enriched and interdependent global society.

To adequately prepare students for this technologically advancing global society, the Hammonton School District must have an evolving technology-enriched curriculum that maintains the correlation with the advances of technology in society.  The appropriate action that a school district can take is to build teacher capacity in technology-infused instructional practices with a priority in maintaining an avant-garde attitude towards developing a technology-enriched curriculum.  By doing so, the district develops a school climate that values technology as an important tool to be imparted to students as they make their way in society.

A school climate that values technology must provide opportunities to improve teacher capacity in delivering a technology-enriched curriculum.  Teachers must have an environment that fosters professional growth in technology-valued instruction as well as an environment that nurtures and values their personal development with increased technological capabilities.  Teachers that have a well-developed technology understanding within their personal lives enrich student growth with technology-infused instructional practices.  As teachers become highly proficient with technology-infused instruction and develop a greater appreciation of technology in their personal lives, a school culture will arise that inherently transmits the importance of technology as a tool to improve the quality of life for all people.

Sincerely,

Mr. JC Martino
