It is my pleasure to welcome the students of the Early Childhood Education Center to another year of exciting discovery and the joy of learning. The early years of our children’s education lay the foundation for continuing success in their academic lives. To this end we dedicate our professionalism and expertise.

Our school begins with pre-kindergarten, housed in Warren E. Sooy, Jr. Elementary School.  In this program we serve four-year-olds in half day morning and afternoon sessions. Our Creative Curriculum, a state approved model curriculum, is based upon the basic needs of socialization, safety and security. Through hands-on manipulation of materials and diversified instruction, our youngest learners become prepared for full day kindergarten.
The early childhood facility houses nine kindergarten and nine first grade classes. Our MAPP (Multi-age Primary Program) is a class of five- to seven-year-old students who can benefit from the “gift of time”. Special education classes, services mandated by IEP and bilingual/ESL instruction are also part of our curricula.

Throughout our students’ day, our faculty delivers instruction that is driven by data from skill assessment and the level of proficiency attained by each individual child. Quarterly curriculum benchmarks, as well as our tools for assessment and reporting, guide instructional methodologies.

To the parents and guardians of our youngest learners I offer an open door to questions, comments and concerns. As an integral part of the home-school team, you are encouraged to communicate with your child’s teachers and this administration. Together we can do great things for our most precious commodity…our children.
